Main Character - Nine
Her origins are uncertain. Her background file has been erased. They call her 'Nine'. A nickname because, for no other reason, her corporate ID began with a '9'.
She showed up one day in the clandestine training program for the CIA. She made an immediate impact. Her firearm skills were second to none, and during hand-to-hand training she worked through several male partners and, after putting them in the hospital with a variety of dislocated joints and broken bones, she was transferred to active duty. A relief to all in the class.
Then she disappeared into the black hole of a super secret clandestine organization. Known only to a few within the U.S. government, the organization takes on only the most difficult assignments. Only those assignments where others have failed.
Beautiful and sexy. Calculating and deadly. She has become known as the most dangerous person on the face of the earth.
She is called 'Nine' by her teammates. Her personal security detail calls her 'The Treasure'.
To her enemies, she is called NYX Goddess of Night [ Mother of Death ].

Character - Ace
That's a pic of me with Nine. My name is 'Ace'. I guess they call me that because I'm a sniper marksman. When I was in the Navy SEALs, I had the highest marks ever recorded for anyone in the military.
I went through CIA training with Nine, and I was one of the partners she put in the hospital. Well, more accurately, she almost tore my arm off when I was instructed to surprise her and grab her from behind and drop her to the mat. That's not exactly how it ended. I ended on the mat with the instructor and other students prying her off me.
Before she was transferred to active duty, I did try my best to work with her and be her partner. I found her fascinating and very attractive. She's a big girl. Around 6 foot tall and strong. Probably 6' 4" in heals. Intimating to some guys. But drop dead gorgeous nonetheless.
It was 6 months or so after Nine had dropped off the radar that I was sent on a misson and the next thing I knew, I was part of Nine's secret team. I guess she referred me to her superiors and they approved of my sniper skills. And to my surprise and obvious pleasure, I gradually found out Nine also wanted me on her team for very personal reasons.
Oh, yes. Even though one of my skills has never been creative writing, I am the narrator of all the Nine/NYX stories. It's a fascinating journey that just had to be told.

Character - James Kellogg, President of the United States
Ex-Army Ranger. Ex-Governor. First term President. The boss. Background in clandestine activity. Calls the shots.
Personal friend of Nine. In fact, after President Kellogg lost his wife in a tragic accident, there were rumors that "Jim', as Nine calls him, were more than just friends with Nine over the 3 years since his wife's passing.
